Chemically straightened hair

Many with curly or wavy hair get frustrated because of the time and effort needed to have tame hair. Personally I know this frustration. Many will hair dry and straighten their hair everyday, causing extreme dryness or damage to their hair. There are products that will help the hair look great but nothing can rebuild the hair structure once damaged.
Chemically straightening the hair can give you straight hair for months. However, is it worth the damage? The texture of your hair will decide how much damage your hair may end up having. Thin hair will damage easier, but thick hair may not stay straight that long. I have two friends that have had their hair chemically straightened. One friend, their hair stayed straight for about 2 months. The other friend, her hair is still straight after about 5 months.
Chemical relaxers are applied starting from the hair shaft. This changes the structural arrangement of the strands. The chemicals relax your waves and curls.
Some of the chemicals have carcinogens and other chemicals that may have some health effects related to it. Some have high levels of formaldehyde which can be dangerous. CONSULT with your hair dresser before having procedure done.
This process can be costly. You also may need to purchase the correct products for hair maintenance and there may be maintenance touch ups which may be needed. As well, is the structural damage that your hair may endure from the chemicals being used.
If any hair is damaged then trim up the ends and use Folichili Shampoo to grow your hair back.
