Barbary Fig Oil comes from the flowers of the cactus fig, (Opuntia ficus indica cactus). The flowers, are a reddish, purple fruit that have seeds inside. The seeds are dried and pressed to make the oil. The flowers produce such little oil, that it takes approximately 30 kilos to make 1 liter of this oil. This simple fact makes this an expensive oil! Originally it grew in Mexico and now is being successfully grown in Morocco.
Skincare
This oil is known for wonderful anti-aging and anti-oxidants benefits. It reduces the number and depth of wrinkles. It is known to help repair, re-structure, firm and heal the skin. It moisturizes, hydrates and penetrates the skin quickly, leaving no oily residue. It helps stops the aging of cells and helps with their renewal. Works great on nails, as well!
Hair care
This oil is known to work beautifully with restoring hair back to healthy growth. It can be used on the scalp or hair ends. It hydrates and replenishes the moisture lost in the hair from environmental elements such as chlorine, sun, wind, etc.
