My last blog was in reference to hair loss caused by High stress levels. Our jobs, economy, family, friends, children and lives can be enjoyable, but can also be stressful! Going through stress for long periods can take a toll on your emotional and physical health.
We have all experienced stress. A definition of stress: is what you feel when you think you have lost control of an event. How your body reacts with muscle and mental tension caused by an external factor.
Everyone reacts to stress differently. Some stress can be positive and enable you to accomplish something difficult. Other stress can be harmful and cause you to feel out of control and demoralized or frustrated.
A body under stress for long periods can become exhausted and can result in physical health being affected. Your immune system may lower and energy may feel drained. Your body can become more open to illnesses. Controlling the affect your body has while under stress should help your body's response to it.
Some stress management techniques, can begin with Identification of what is causing the stress. Identifying the stress is important because then you can sense if the stress is caused by something within your control. If it is external and out of your control, there may be nothing you can do to control it, so why stress over it. If it is in your control, then you can react or use stress management to help you stay under control.
Of course the perfect world is to avoid the people or events that cause stress. Since that is impossible, you can try to alter the stressor.
You can express yourself and be assertive. Let your thoughts be known. Be willing to compromise and adapt. Re focus on the positives and look at the big picture. Sometimes you may need to adjust your standards, and be accepting or forgiving. Sometimes this change in attitude helps relieve frustration which is a general part of stress.
Most of what has been mentioned is a mental way of dealing with stress. Positive mental attitude is the biggest element you can use to fight stress. Your body will feel better if you make time for fun relaxation. Taking a walk outdoors, running, gym, yoga, meditation, listening to music or any activity that helps you escape for awhile. Adopt a healthy lifestyle, and find the right element that helps relax you in a positive way.
