Hair loss and illness

Normal hair loss is about 50 to100 hairs everyday. When the body is under stress, illness, or a hormone imbalance, excess hair loss may occur.
Illness or pregnancy can cause stress to your body. About 3-4 months after an illness or pregnancy, hair loss may be affected. Usually a large amount will start to fall out around this timeframe. This is a temporary hair loss caused by temporary stress to the body. Given time, your hair should grow back. However, it may be several months before you notice the re-growth.
Diseases such as lupus, autoimmune disorders or cancer can cause hair loss, since this is an early sign of the disease.
Along with illness, some medications can cause excess hair loss. Blood thinners, medication used for gout, blood pressure meds, meds used for heart problems, excess vitamin A, birth control, anti-depressants and chemo.
An imbalance of thyroid gland or male/female hormones can cause hair loss, such as menopause. Once these hormonal issues are corrected your hair that was lost should re-grow.
Women are said to age gracefully. However, when a woman loses her hair, she loses her confidence. Even if they don't show it or say it, a woman's beauty usually means alot to them. Wigs and a shorter hair style helps. However, it is just not the same as having your own hair.
Similar with some men. Some lose their hair and don't seem to care. Others try hair plugs, wigs, toupee, or hair color.
We all try to age gracefully. We can try hair products that claim to help with hair growth to keep our own hair. They will work on most people by stimulating the hair roots, however they don't work on everyone.
Personally I have found the Folichili Shampoo to work for me. Over several months it has given me fuller and longer hair. I love the results! This shampoo is available at http://www.respectedroots.com/
